(The question refers to getting the large shards preferably before beating the Dancer).
You are watching: Dark souls 3 large titanite shard farming
My current "strategy" is rushing to the world of Ariandel and farming the Corvian Knights there (this can be done as soon as getting to Cathedral of the Deep), but I was wondering if there's an even earlier location in the game to farm Large Titanite Shards.
Killing knights at the "Lothric Castle" bonfire has always given me way more large titanite shards than I needed.
Thanks for the reply.
While I know I can get to the Lothric Castle as early as I want (provider I can beat the Dancer), I was actually looking for ways to get it before fighting her.
Anything before dancer right? Hmmm..
Cathedral of the Deep, the sleeping giants sure drops 1 each when killed.
After pontiff bonfire, giants are also farmable.
I guess cathedral knights in the deep also drop a few if you can farm them.
I'll edit once i find a few more..
Edit: Lothric Knights outside of Emma? They do right? They even drop chunks rarely. And the single Knight on tower on the wall bonfire? Oh and of course, the Wyvern before tower on the wall! 3 guaranteed i believe if you bring down his health to 30% with a bow.
Do those Lothric Knights drop it? I've farmed them countless times, and never got any Large Shards, not even from the blue one.

1 from the dragon on the high wall, 1 from a trade in firelink shrine, 2 in cathedral of the deep (giants) and 2 close to the stray demon. The simplest way to get a weapon to +5. You can get tons in smouldering lake but without dlc you won't reach +6 before the abyss watchers.
