won"t compile, I got this insteadError:java: javacTask: resource release 1.8 calls for target relax 1.8
any settings I can need to change in intelliJ. I"m using 1.8 sdk already.
You are watching: Error java javactask source release 1.7 requires target release 1.7
387f17e4.It will sit for a while and also then display that message again. Any ideas?
I ran lsof -i:4567 and according to this the listening, ns guess:java 89378 origin 51u IPv6 0x26bbf3e24d065a41 0t0 TCP *:tram (LISTEN)
and after ~ a if the message says:
I"ve likewise tried setting the harbor to 9090 before the call to obtain in .Main:port(9090);
The results is error 404 no found. Likewise the an outcome for 4567.
I"ve likewise tried awaitInitialization(); also before the speak to to get. Climate it simply sets a waits v out any messages. So, it appears the server is not initializing. What does this mean???

My guess: v is the the bytecode target is set somewhere else in the video. Ns did this prior to I tried the "sourceCompatibility = 1.8" solution and also it functioned too. That is in file > setups > Build, Execution, Deployment > Compiler > Java compiler , you will certainly see listed below the per - module over there is/are modules, you pick one and also to the appropriate of that room your options.. I don"t understand why that defaults to 1.5. I"m trial and error the job bytecode alternative as I create this.
I"ve a brand-new question. Its about the "maven repository" being "unindexed" popup message. I"m thinking around clicking Disable... Ns clicked the upgrade repository very first but it takes a long time. That still mr up, the message. I"m utilizing IntelliJ 2016.1.
If it"s quiet relevant... I had actually the same problem with "unindexed" popup message, yet after updating the disappeared. Also in Gradle Workshop by Craig 2nd video that disregarded this warning. So ns guess it"s not so important.
my soursecCompatibility = 1.5 is underlined in gray and also the lightbulb states "Argument is no used". Anyone know how to fix this? im likewise having the problem "won"t compile, I acquired this rather Error:java: javacTask: source release 1.8 requires target release 1.8"
Just wanted to mention that it appears exist another solution to this problem, detailed by Michael Walters here
Quoting his answer
The error is: Error:java: javacTask: resource release 1.8 requires target release 1.8
When you leave "Create different module per resource set" checked, if you open Preferences > Build, Execution, Deployment > Compiler > Java Compiler, the version per module is set to 1.6 or lower. That reasons the error.
But, if girlfriend don"t check it, IntelliJ doesn"t collection versions per module, and the relax error doesn"t happen.
